PROGRAMME BRESIL AND ARGENTINA – 16 DAYS / 14 NIGHTS

FROM 29 OCTOBER TO 13 NOVEMBER 2010

 

Day 1 –    BEIRUT / PARIS / RIO DE JANEIRO

Meeting at Beirut Airport at midnight  for departure to Rio via Paris flight AF  563  at 02.00    arrival Paris  0545 morning continue to Rio at 10.30 arrival at 18h20, transfer hotel SOFITEL.

Day 2 -   RIO DE JANEIRO

Buffet Breakfast at Hotel and full  Day Corcovado & Sugar Loaf without lunch – Overnight

Hotel – OPTIONAL  " Rio Folk show ( around 90 USD)

Day 3   RIO DE JANEIRO

After breakfast  full day City tour of Petropolis, located in the Mountain region of Rio - 1hour from Rio - Known as the Imperial City - chosen at the time of Brazil’s monarchy to be the summer residence of the Emperor of Brazil - Pedro II. Visit the Imperial Museum, the Crystal Palace and the Sao Pedro de Alcantara Neolithic Cathedral. Overnight Hotel in Rio .

Day 4   Rio / Salvador de Bahia

Salvador - .Capital of the State of Bahia, former Brazil's capital until 1763,  divided in two parts. The "Lower City" is at sea level and contains the old port and the commercial area  developed by African slaves in Brazil, originally as a form of combat and later as a type of dance and folklore tradition. The "Upper City" can be reached by stone steps ,transfer to Hotel.  Evening, OPTIONAL  Bahia by night with dinner and show - The show takes place in the 18th century colonial complex Solar do Unhao, the dance of the caboclo and capoeira. Day 5 – Salvador de Bahia

Half day Historical tour - We start in the modern suburb of Barra and make our way slowly by to the old historical section of town, the Pelourinho area with the largest and the best preserved complex colonial architecture in the Americas. We visit the church of S. Francisco with its exuberant gold-leafed Baroque interior and the Pelourinho Square, the heart of the old town. This tour shows two distinct aspects of Salvador, the new and the old, concentrating on the early expansion of the city. Overnight Hotel Pestana

Day 6 – Salvador de Bahia Optional – Cruise around the beautiful beaches of Salvador

 or Full day Cachoeira w/lunch - We leave the city behind and drive through the oldest farmland in Brazil. We visit an experimental cacau plantation,lunch in Cachoeira, a charming colonial town setting on the banks of the Paraguassu River and later take a walking tour of the town with it's many wood sculptors ateliers, bustling market (Wed, Fri and Sat) and visit the Sisterhood of the Boa Morte, a sorority which traces it's origins back to the time of slavery. Overnight Hotel Pestana Convento do Carmo.

Day 7 – Salvador/Iguasu Falls

After breakfast flight from Salvador de Bahia to Iguassu Falls via Sao , arrival and transfer to hotel if there is enough time visit to Brazilian Falls Overnight at Das Cataratas hotel 5*.

Day 8 – Iguacu Bresilian side to Iguacu  Argentine side

After the visit to Utaipu Dam departure to cross to Argentinian  side of Iguacu  and visit the falls overnight at Hotel LOI Suites Iguacu 5*

Day 9 – Iguacu / BUENOS AIRES/Calafate 

After breakfast transfer to airort for departure to Calafate via Buenos Aires arrival and transfer to

Your hotel KOSTEN AIKE for overnight.

Day 10 – Calafate

Morning departure for a full day’s to the Brazo Rico coast of the Argentine Lake. This excursion takes you south to the permanently advancing Moreno Glacier, the most breathtaking of all, and Canal de Los Tempanos, At times, the Canal is completely blocked by a dam of ice, trip by boat to have a different view of the glacier wall, what makes it possible to get a better idea of the height of its peaks and towers (Navigation 1 hr). overnight hotel.

Day 11 – Calafate / Buenos Aires

After Breakfast transfer to airport for departure to Buones Aires, arrival and transfer to hotel

LOI SUITES 5 * ,free time overnight hotel.

Day 12 – Buenos Aires

After breakfast transfer to Sao airport for departure to Buones Aires arrival transfer to hotel NH JOUSTEN 4* , if there is enough time departure for a half day tour of Buones Aires three  hour sightseeing tour visiting the most outstanding sites, 9 de Julio Ave. the widest in the world, Opera house, the Obelisk , Plaza de Mayo (May Square), Government House, Metropolitan Cathedral with the Mausoleum of General San Martin, Argentina's greatest national hero and the Cabildo, the colonial town hall.The tour continues to La Boca, 'Caminito' street the port area, San Martin Square The ride continues to Recoleta elegant district to visit Recoleta Cemetery where the famous are laid to rest (including Eva Peron). Return to hotel for overnight.

DAY 13 – Buones Aires  

Full day FIESTA GAUCHA ESTANCIA SANTA SUSANA INCLUDING LUNCH (AND STOP AT  SAN TELMO FLEA MARKET) This lovely full day seat in bus excursion is a unique opportunity to have a close contact with the Argentine gaucho, its traditional music and dances, enjoying a Gaucho Festival with gaucho skill demonstration. The party is held at a beautiful country residence, on an old ranch in the outskirts of Buenos Aires and it includes a typical "asado criollo" (barbecue) with drinks with folkloric music & dances. Overnight hotel.

Day 14   Buones Aires

Full day free for personal Acrivities , Evening DINNER & TANGO SHOW ESQUINA CARLOS GARDEL In Buenos Aires of the last years of the 19th century, when tango was starting
to become known the icon of Tango. In the neighborhood there is a restaurant called “El Chanta Cuatro” where the picturesque guys of the market would gather and where “Carlitos” used to meet his friends more than 100 years after, the history repeats and in the same place, “Esquina Carlos Gardel”, this unique theme restaurant, was inaugurated. Excellent cuisine; a gorgeous Art
resembling the sophistication of the most luxurious salons of that times an artistic offer of the highest level and a mythic atmosphere, ideal for an unforgettable night.

After breakfast free time until transfer to airport to take the flight to Paris  and continue to

Documents needed for visas

1.     A valid passport showing at least six months validity from the date of arrival in Brazil + copy of all filled pages.

2.    One Visa Application Form, per applicant, completely filled

3.    Two recent photographs (3x4), in color, front view, white back.

4.    Work Certificate, translated to English, French or Portuguese.

6.     Bank extract, of the last three months, with stamp and seal of the bank.

7.     Extract of Judicial-Penal Report, translated to English, French or Portuguese.

8.   The original  invitation or hotel reservation for the staying period. 

9.     Original of the round ticket issue showing date of entry and date of exit from Brazil.
